Motails — Terms & Conditions

Last updated: November 24, 2025

Welcome to Motails. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our boarding, daycare, relocation, and related pet services. By booking services or leaving your pet in Motails’ care, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not proceed with booking.

1. Definitions

  • Motails / Company — Motails (the pet care provider).
  • Owner / Client — The person(s) who owns the pet and who books or authorizes services.
  • Pet — Any animal placed in Motails care for boarding, daycare, transport or related services.

2. Vaccination & Health Requirements

  • All pets must be up to date with vaccinations required by Motails, typically including: rabies, DHPPi/FVRCP, leptospirosis (where applicable), and kennel cough (Bordetella). Owners must present valid vaccination records at check-in.
  • Pets must be free of contagious diseases, external parasites (fleas/ticks), and skin conditions at arrival. Motails reserves the right to refuse admission or terminate boarding if a pet appears ill or contagious.
  • If vaccination records are not provided or appear incomplete, Motails may refuse service until proof is provided from a licensed veterinarian.

3. Medical Care & Emergency Treatment

  • Motails will make reasonable efforts to contact the owner or emergency contact if medical attention is needed.
  • If urgent veterinary treatment is required and the owner or emergency contact cannot be reached within a reasonable time, Motails is authorized to seek veterinary care on the owner’s behalf.
  • The owner accepts financial responsibility for all veterinary and treatment costs incurred during care, including emergency transport, medications, and hospitalization. Motails will obtain approval for non-emergency procedures when possible.

4. Behavior, Safety & Disclosure

  • Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, escape risk, or other behavioral concerns. Failure to disclose behavior issues that later cause injury or escape may lead to termination of services without refund.
  • Motails may refuse or terminate service for any pet that poses a safety risk to staff, other animals, or property.
  • Motails is not liable for injury, illness, or escape that results from undisclosed behavioral conditions.

5. Personal Belongings

  • Owners may leave toys, bedding, collars, and bowls with their pet. Motails takes reasonable care but is not responsible for loss, damage, or soiling of personal items.
  • Please label all personal items. Motails reserves the right to remove items that present a safety or sanitation concern.

6. Feeding, Medication & Special Care

  • Owners must provide clear, written feeding and medication instructions. Motails will follow these instructions but is not liable for unforeseen reactions to food or medications.
  • Proprietary or specialized diets should be supplied by the owner in clearly labeled containers.
  • Motails will administer medications as directed; however, Motails is not a veterinary clinic and cannot accept responsibility for medication errors resulting from inaccurate owner instructions.

7. Photography, Updates & Social Media

  • Motails may take photos or videos of pets while in care for the purpose of sharing updates with owners and for promotional use.
  • Owners who do not wish their pet’s images used for promotional purposes must opt out in writing prior to the service date.

8. Payment, Fees & Cancellation Policy

  • Full payment or an agreed deposit must be paid at the time of booking or prior to check-in, as per Motails’ booking policy.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled check-in may incur a cancellation fee equal to one night’s boarding charge or a percentage of the booking as published by Motails.
  • Additional charges (grooming, medication administration, special handling, emergency veterinary care, transport) will be billed to the owner and must be paid promptly.

9. Abandonment Policy

  • If a pet is not collected within seven (7) days of the agreed pick-up date and Motails has not received contact from the owner, the pet will be considered abandoned.
  • In cases of abandonment Motails may take reasonable action, including rehoming, surrender to appropriate authorities, or other steps permitted by local law. The owner will remain liable for boarding and associated costs incurred up to and including the date of disposition.

10. Liability & Indemnity

  • While Motails strives to provide safe, professional care, the owner acknowledges that no facility can guarantee against illness, injury, death, escape, or loss due to natural causes, pre-existing conditions, or unforeseen accidents.
  • Motails shall not be liable for loss, damage, or injury unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of Motails.
  • Owners agree to indemnify and hold Motails harmless from any claims, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the owner’s failure to disclose medical or behavioral information, or failure to follow these Terms.

11. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Motails facility is located. Any dispute arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in that jurisdiction.

12. Changes to Terms

  • Motails may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on our website and the “Last updated” date will be revised. Continued use of services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
